Hybrid heat is a combination system.  It combines a gas furnace with either a ground source heat pump or an air source heat pump.  This system allows the customer to take advantage of heat pump savings during the mild, days down to the just below freezing days. The great thing about combining with a 95% eff. gas furnace is that when the temps. fall below the efficient balance point of the heat pump the gas furnace takes over and the 95% efficiency rating means only 5% loss.  So, out of every hundred dollars only 5 go up the chimney.  Combine this with a high efficiency heat pump and this makes for a savings machine!

What is geo thermal heating & air conditioning?  Well, for the customer that knows what a heat pump is.  A geo thermal system is a heat pump that uses a liquid filled loop to transfer heat either into the ground or away from the ground the same way a normal heat pump transfers heat into the outdoor air or extracts heat from it.  It's that simple!  Using either a well or closed loop allows for constant temperature for heat transfer.  The consistent temperature is the key ingredient that makes the geo that much more efficient at heating & air conditioning than the air source heat pump.
