Also called mini-splits, a ductless split heat pump provides the same heating and air conditioning as a ducted heat pump, but without requiring ductwork. The system is composed of three main components—an indoor unit(s), an outdoor compressor unit and a remote control—most ductless split systems are connected by refrigerant lines and require no ductwork. Mitsubishi Mr. Slim ductless split heat pump systems allow you to cool or heat without ductwork or windows and are the perfect solution for your Vancouver Island home, restaurant, computer room, retail store or Gulf Island cottage. Mr. Slim ductless split heat pump systems have an indoor air handling unit, and a slim-line outdoor condenser unit which are easily connected by refrigerant lines running through a small 10cm opening in the wall or ceiling. The outdoor unit cycles the refrigerant through the lines to and from the indoor unit, where the air is conditioned and then distributed into the open space. The indoor units come in a variety of styles and can be installed in compact tight spaces on walls or recessed into or suspended from ceilings. Each outdoor unit can accommodate up to 4 indoor units to easily provide heating and cooling to your entire home.

While geothermal is the most efficient method of heating, the systems should be installed and designed only by certified geothermal professionals.
