HVAC Services

Installation: Whether you are building a new home or upgrading to a new more efficient heating and cooling system for your present home, H.E.R.O. Heating has the capacity, efficiency and price that will suit your needs. Our systems include cooling, heating, air cleaners, and accessories.

Maintenance: Before the cooling or heating seasons it is a good idea to have your system checked out by one of our maintenance experts. Small problems can become bigger problems as your system continues to run. Regular maintenance pays for itself through higher efficiency, less utility overpayment, and improved comfort. Just as your automobile needs regular maintenance so does your air conditioning system.

Repair: Should you require service on your current home comfort system our skilled technicians have the know-how to diagnose, adjust or repair your system so that you are comfortable all year long.

Air Filters and Cleaners: According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), indoor air can be 2-5 times more polluted than the air outdoors. Improve the air quality in your home with a Whole-House Air Cleaner.

Humidification: Air in your home that is too dry can be uncomfortable to breathe, and can damage wood products like flooring, pianos, picture frames and cabinetry.  While on the reverse, air that has too much moisture can cause your home to feel sticky or damp, create condensation on windows and other cold surfaces, or cause air to smell musty.

Ultraviolet Air Treatment: Ultraviolet (UV) Air Treatment Systems zap mold spores and certain live, airborne bacteria passing by the lamp to prevent them from being re-circulated into your home's air.  The shortwave lights, similar to those used in hospitals, laboratories and commercial kitchens, are easy to add to your existing heating and cooling system.  Plus, the long-life lamps are easy to replace when needed.

Radiant in-floor heating systems: Underfloor heating and cooling is a form of central heating and cooling which utilizes heat conduction and radiant heat or cold for indoor climate control, rather than forced air heating which relies on convection. Heat can be provided by circulating heated water or by electric cable, mesh, or film heaters.

Underfloor heating can be used with concrete and wooden floors, with all types of floor covering (e.g., stone, tile, wood, vinyl, and carpet), and at ground level or upstairs. Choice of floor finishing requires careful consideration, because changes of floor finish may affect performance.

Heat pumps: Quality construction meets up-to-date design. You can count on Armstrong Air heat pumps for years of dependable comfort. The Copeland Scroll™ compressor is engineered for maximum durability, while a built-in filter dryer helps protect the system from contaminants.

Matched indoor components include Microban® protected drain pans which inhibit the growth of odor causing mold, mildew and bacteria. The new platinum gray cabinet, with horizontal louvers and appliance-like seams and contours, provides an attractive appearance designed to complement every home.

Ductless mini-split A/C's: Mini splits can be effectively used in both residential and commercial buildings. They are currently most commonly used in multi-family housing or retrofit as add-ons to homes with "non-ducted" heating systems. They can also be a good choice for room additions and small apartments, where installing ductwork (for a central air-conditioner or heating systems) is not feasible or practical.

Other opportunities for effective use include school classrooms, perimeter cooling for office buildings, additional cooling for office buildings, additional cooling for restaurant kitchens and cooling for small offices. They can also effectively cool smaller areas within larger spaces, such as arenas, warehouses or auditoriums.

Hot water boiler systems: A residential hot water boiler is used to heat water for a hydronic heating system. A hydronic heating system maintains comfort in your home with hot water circulating to every room. The system basically consists of a boiler, pump and baseboards connected by water piping. The boiler heats water to temperatures between 120º and 210º, and the water is then pumped through the piping in the baseboards located around the outer perimeter of the home for a curtain of warmth, or in the floor in radiant systems.

Additional Information

Underfloor heating and cooling is a form of central heating and cooling which utilizes heat conduction and radiant heat or cold for indoor climate control, rather than forced air heating which relies on convection.

The benefits and comfort of a radiant floor heating system are endless —creating an energy saving and healthier home for you and your family for years to come. In-floor heating systems heat every room in your home evenly with heating coils that are placed under the floor before installation.

The water in a radiant system has a capacity to transport energy 3,500 times greater than air, so it can heat (and even cool) using less energy than a forced-air system. This amounts to greater comfort at a lower thermostat setting, which provides lower energy bills. In fact, more people are comfortable with radiant floor heating at a lower thermostat setting than with forced-air heating at a higher thermostat setting.

Additionally, a radiant heating system works in zones, allowing different areas of a home to heat at different temperatures. This allows typically chilly rooms, such as bathrooms, basements and entryways, to receive more heat when needed. At the same time, rooms with less traffic, such as a den or formal dining room, can be set to a lower thermostat setting, making the system even more energy-efficient.
