Ronald Chambless has owned RC's A/C & Heating since 1994 when he began his company from his home functioning from the back of the little Mazda pickup. Unable to afford hired aid, Ron's father-in-law worked with him and if the job was too big for the too of them to handle, that is where Ron's spouse, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and grandmother came in! RC's is a family company!!
RC's has grown since 1994 but continues to be a lot a family company. There are 2 fairly knowledgeable technicians to serve you along with a friendly receptionist to answer your calls. Ron's spouse nevertheless lends a hand with much of the paperwork. If you call our family to your home, you are able to be assured we are going to care for your home like it was ours!!

At RC's, we understand the old saying, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." That's why we offer our customers the Preventive Maintenance Agreement. This agreement is renewable each year, and it keeps your air conditioning and heating system operating at peak performance. It also prevents many unnecessary breakdowns. It's like having regular doctor visits, having your teeth cleaned twice a year, or having the oil changed in your car on a regular basis.
If you’re looking for a place to start improving your home’s energy efficiency, attic insulation is number one. Attic insulations purpose is to keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. If you upgrade your attic insulation from three inches to 12 inches, you could save up to 20 percent on your heating costs! A poorly insulated home requires an inside temperature at least 3° higher to maintain the same level of comfort. Properly installed Insulation protects your home with a thermal barrier that helps reduce costly fuel bills during heating and cooling seasons. Not only will good insulation lower your energy bills, it can also increase your home’s value, decrease maintenance cost, and reduce outside noise pollution. Let us give you an estimate on upgrading your attic insulation!
Your home or office can make you sick because it can contain mold, mildew, dust, dust mites, and other airborne particles such as pollen, pet dander, and smoking odors. We create tighter, more efficient homes which allow these particles to circulate throughout the home by means of our air conditioning system. If air duct cleaning is done correctly, it will remove the majority of these contaminants giving you a more comfortable living and working environment. If you have never had the air duct's cleaned before, your air duct system could be the source of headaches, allergies and breathing problems.
Do you have rooms that are too hot or too cold? Do you have "thermostat wars" as people try to get comfortable? Do you use additional heaters to keep warm in the winter, and extra fans to keep cool in the summer? If so, having your air duct system balanced might solve your comfort problems (and save energy dollars to boot).Air balancing is a process of measuring and adjusting air flow to the needs of the occupants. The first step is to analyze the building loads need for heating and cooling in each room or area. The next step is to record the information from the equipment, and all of the supply and return registers and grilles. By analyzing all of this information the target airflow for each register and grille is recorded. After this information is recorded the equipment is started and the airflow through the equipment is measured as well as the static pressures created in the duct system.
Sometimes a comfort system cannot be brought into a state of acceptable performance. This can be due to equipment that is not sized correctly or not installed correctly. Many times the duct system is not adequate to do the job. Almost all duct systems leak air, some more than others. The Department of Energy believes that duct systems nationwide leak an average of 20%. Other problems with duct systems can be they are too small or too restrictive. There may not be enough branches, supply ducts, or returns. All of these problems can be diagnosed and corrected.
Whether you're building a new home, remodeling, or simply replacing an old heating and cooling system, you can depend on us for reliable, quality installation, and service after the fact! Our staff of qualified technicians can install and repair any brand of commercial or residential equipment. If you live in Lubbock, Abernathy or the surrounding area, give us a call.
Just as you service your vehicle on a regular basis, we recognize the fact that efficient performance and long-life of your heating and cooling systems depend on regular servicing. RC's offers maintenance agreements to ensure that your equipment is running at peak performance all times of the year. Once you invest in a maintenance agreement, you become a prefered customer, placing you at the top of our call sheet should you have a malfunction, and that repair will be priced at a reduced rate. We value our customers and try to show our appreciation as often as we can!
Another reason some systems fail to keep folks happy is lack of zoning. Zoning is an addition to a duct system that allows the system to supply conditioned air only to the rooms that need it. This keeps those rooms comfortable without overheating or overcooling other rooms. In addition to increasing comfort, zoning also saves energy dollars. Imagine you come home to a dark house. You come through the door, flip a switch and all of the lights in the house come on! That isn't very efficient, is it? Of course our lights are all controlled in rooms or "zones" of need. Your heating and cooling system can also be zoned, increasing your comfort and saving you money.
